A performance based on Tower (2009), a video work by Teppei Kaneuji, for which Shin Fukunaga has written a new text. Around an abstract architecture called Tower, the props, images and performer exploit their capacity and sometimes deviate from or even give up their territories in exploration of a new theatre work. Please feel the diverse images, movements and sounds that the Tower generates in spite of the fact that it is supposed to be inorganic matter.

Futari

Teppei Kaneuji is an artist who works not only in the contemporary art world but also stage design. Shinpei Yamada is a stage visual designer who has worked for various theatre and dance pieces. Izumi Aoyagi is a performer who is known for her appearance in the works of mum & gypsy and chelfitsch. Futari (“two people” in Japanese) is a unit formed by these three people. Their work is based on Kaneuji’s artwork that structures a unique spatial quality with quotidian materials, and the images and performance fuses themselves with it. They have presented Phantom of Lecture (2014, Kyoto Experiment) and holes and buildings, a projection mapping work.
