The riddle of the sphinx compared the human lifespan to the morning, afternoon, and evening. What time might it be now, if you were to compare a lifetime to a single day? In this piece, three dancers created a sketchbook of their personal history. They exchanged these personal histories and discussed them as a form of dance notation in order to create this new work. This dance piece collects time as it exists in a certain place, drawing on the idea that "Form is Rhythm." It takes places in an installation of quiet sound that continually produces both rhythm and intervals of silence. For TPAM, Unit Dance Bookshelf presents a new version of this piece for the Wakabacho performance space.
