This is the latest work by TOKYO ELECTROCK STAIRS, choreographed and composed by KENTARO!!. Although based on techniques from street dance, particularly hip-hop dance, this performance gives shape to the group’s unique world view, creating its own style that is unlike any pre-existing style. KENTARO!! / TOKYO ELECTROCK STAIRS
TOKYO ELECTROCK STAIRS is a dance company helmed by KENTARO!!. Since their debut in December 2008, the company has performed its own exclusive performances every year, and has released 13 long pieces and 2 short works to date. They have presented their work overseas as well, performing in Asia, Europe and elsewhere, and their 2013 showcase in New York was praised by the New York Times. Against the backdrop of the music and lyrics composed by KENTARO!! himself, the company creates a dreamlike, surreal ambience. They communicate inexpressible feelings through dance, under their motto of “To touch your heart and break through it.”
