“From ancient times, the people of Amami believed in a paradise called neriya kanaya that lay beyond the ocean, and goddesses who brought good harvests to mankind.”

This is a tale, told through sound and painting, that travels from antiquity to the future, bearing words of yore.

Tessyu

Tesshu has been active since 2007 with his style of painting dubbed “bubyou” (“dance-drawing”). He uses his own hands instead of a paintbrush, painting with his entire body in a manner that resembles dancing.
In 2010, he formed EGGORE with guitarist Kenichiro Tsukiyama and percussionist Aki-ra Sunrise.
They have won national and international praise for their unique performance, which presents their vision of an “ancient future” by combining ancient and modern sounds, to depict an ever-transforming tale.
