An eclectic cast of writers produce a show in the shape of a book. performance encyclopaedia subjects the act of writing to the group labour of rehearsal — and publication to the social conditions of the live event. The book stays in print for just an hour. For the time it remains in circulation, the performance encyclopaedia stages a present moment where reading is a convivial act and writing produces not objects, but temporal and collective experience. Convening artistic collaborators from Asia who work in the English language, this iteration takes up the meanings, histories and uses of this common currency.

Public Recordings

Public Recordings develops and presents projects that test hypotheses about group work through performance, education, publishing and other collective gestures. With the goal of providing a readable index of problems and solutions in and through experiential practice, we use the structural and administrative framework of a dance company to question the meanings and possibilities of shared space.
