sim sim
Formed in January 2004 by guitarist Oshima Teruyuki, who brought together members to consider the relationship between sounds (pause, gap, fluctuation, etc.). sim seek to break new ground in the band ensemble method through elaborate composition, while revealing a fusion of unique sound pressure and the dynamism provided by each player in live performance. The band's first album 'sim' (HEADZ / Weather) has been released in April 2005.
gnu gnu
Formed in 1997 by Okura Masahiko, who has been working on improvisation using alto saxophone, bass clarinet, tube, and other instruments during the 1990s to focus on improvised performance has developed its present style by putting emphasis on composition and ensemble. gnu is continuing to explore with an ever-changing line up of music and members. Its latest album is 'Suro' (cubic music).
Origami Origami
Origami is a unit led by Nanorunamonai and Sibitt the MC, and Onimas the track-maker. They have sent the one and only Origami sound towards the world from Takadanobaba 505 Studio, crossing borders through live performances in which they defy the boundaries of hip-hop, while grabbing the heart of the audience. Nanorunamonai's solo album 'melhen trips' has been released on July 7, 2005.

Ootani was engaged in the independent music scene as an editor and writer for the music review magazine 'Espresso' during the years 1996-2002. He has written 'The School of Melancholy and Sensuality', and 'Albert Ayler at the University of Tokyo' (both co-written with Kikuchi Naruyoshi), and edited 'Improvised Music from Japan EXTRA2003'. He is also active as a saxophonist and electronics musician.
